Hi Summer! We do typically recommend adding additional space for boots. The lining takes up some space, and having sufficient space in a winter boot allows for better air flow and keeps your feet warmer. I would probably choose size EU 29 and EU 31 for those measurements.

I like my adult Be Lenka boots just fine (Ranger, Bliss), apart from the fact that I’ve had to repair things like glueing the edge of the soles back to the leather, etc..
The kids also have had Jolly and Play, which were fine.
But I have to say that the Snowfox boots my kids used last winter are a disappointment. No matter how often I waterproof them (I even bought spray from another company than usual to rule out the waterproofing was at fault), the kids have had wet feet all winter. The insole gets soaking wet after minutes in the rain or snow.
Considering the high price of those boots, that’s not okay. Customer service wasn’t helpful, either.

Depending on where you live, that actually is quite cheap! They are in Europe, so if shipping overseas they likely are subsidizing the cost so you don’t have to pay all of it yourself.

Great question! I’ve been talking about it with Be Lenka to find out what changes have been made to the 2.0. It seems they’ve fixed the low volume/narrow ankle opening issue!! We’ll be updating our review to reflect that.

We’ve had multiple pairs for long periods of time, and so has Samantha’s family – they’ve worked really well for us! The color running on the Jolly is an issue, my son has a pair of the Aqua Green and the color totally bled when he wore them in the rain. But functionally, they’ve held up to all the playing and the harsh weather superbly.

I keep reading how durable and good quality they are, but this is not my first impression after just ordering a pair of Jolly.

The description says you’re only meant to use them far walking, and if you only as much as sweat in them, the colour will run and the sole will fall apart. To me, this is not the description of a durable pair of kids shoes!!

But I ordered them anyway, because I couldn’t find any other options here in Australia for my son, who has Down’s syndrome. He has a super wide forefoot with pointy heels, so just plain wide shoes don’t work. And ideally, his shoes should also have a bit of support around his ankles for the orthotics he wears for ankle pronation. (Actually, even including shipping it would have been cheaper to order them from Europe, but then it would be practically impossible to return them if I needed to.)

So, I thought, well, maybe these shoes do actually work as well as you’d expect them in a variety of weather and sports conditions, they just put in all this disclaimer to avoid having to deal with any warranty claims.

But now that I’ve received them, I actually don’t feel like I’m holding a pair of durable shoes in my hands. For starters, and a very obvious quality issue that the stitches along the tongues are not backstitched. And not one, by mistake, all four, consistently. You could just pull all the thread out. I also don’t feel good about the stitches that run along the inside of the sole. This is normal practice, but when I’ve seen it in other shoes, the stitches always blend in with the material of the shoes. These ones are just “mid-air”. I feel that any rubbing from the feet, especially in the front, would break them quite quickly. Then there’s the straps as well, which seem too thin and stiff, something you would expect to develop cracks pretty quickly.

I really wouldn’t want to return them, mostly again because we don’t have any other good options, but I also don’t want to have to treat them like a pair of silk bridal shoes!

Good point, they have more “shoe” to them. But it does make for a more durable product!
