We recommend you stand with your full weight on each foot while measuring.

Hi Robin, you might not be able to get them perfectly straight again, but you can definitely improve them! Check out our article on bunions for more details.

Hi Janice, Freet would probably be a good brand for you! You can find them and more stretchy options here.

I have a similar problem. Wide at the toe joints, narrow heal , high instep . Right big toe has become bent and even had a corn on the knuckle, so painful. And the toe next to it just wants to hide all bent up.
I now use toe spacers and wide shoes. My weight is distributed more evenly and I am developing some strength in the toes which helps.
Is it possible to straighten the toes with devices and proper shoes over time? Needing encouragement.
At least no pain now.

I have the very same problem but with the addition of bunions and a big toe cross over. Can anyone recommend a brand that has a high toe box or very stretchy fabric that would stretch over the crossed big toe without pressure.

I never realized how much different foot shapes and volumes can impact how barefoot shoes fit — the tips on measuring your feet and matching them with the right brands actually made it way easier for me to narrow down options that won’t pinch or rub. Honestly, this might be the most practical barefoot shoe guide I’ve come across online.

Hi Deniz, there are no hard and fast measurements for these. You can read about what foot volume is here.

Your width will fall somewhere on the narrow to extra wide spectrum and of course you can measure your foot width (learn how to measure your feet here) and then use those measurements to interpret a size chart here.

But I dont know what does it mean by Volume and Width how do I measure it? Like how can I say which measurement of my foot fits in which selection of the volume and width?

Had been sloshing around in Altra Lone Peak hiking shoes for years. Lems hikers are soooo much better fit.

It might be Whitin. I’ve heard a lot about them and recently purchased a pair. Anya does have a review of them. They are almost a transitional shoe. They have some cushion in them, are for a medium rise and come in whole and half sizes depending where you are. I had to add heel grips to mine as I have a low rise but they fit great now. Hobibear are similar from what I’ve read.

My narrow-heeled feet are flat and straight so my big toe lands towards the center of most shoes and my fifth toe is pushed against the outer edge of the shoe. Unfortunately, most shoes are designed for a curved rather than straight feet.
Showing the shape of shoes’ soles is very helpful, thank you!

I dont have much pain but my feet are not very functional as they are.

As a result of bunions, my feet are extremely wide by the big toe joint and narrow at the toes. Narrow heals. I need to wear toe spacers to prevent crossover pain making them wider.
