Hi Brian, if you liked the fit of Correct Toes, but not the materials – I would definitely try the Sport model.

What are the boots you’re wearing in the photo with the Abercrombie wool coat? Thanks!

Naboso has launched the “Splay 2.0” and Correct Toes has the “Correct Toes Sport”.

I’ve had the original of both. Correct Toes (original) was not comfortable on my foot because of how the harder material just contacted the ball of my foot and I wasn’t a huge fan of how stiff they were….but I felt like they had the better “anatomical correctness”. The sport model is supposed to be softer and more flexible with rounded edges?

The Naboso Splay (original) felt good initially, but over-corrected my pinky toe and had some issues with the big toe strap rolling over if you tried to pull on a shoe over them. So, sometimes I felt weird pressure or it was maybe not affording me the best circulation in my big toe. Claims for the new version 2.0 are that these issues have been addressed.

Is there any good information that either you have or could point me to for either/both models? I’d hate to buy both just for trial and error. I’ve already purchased 3 options my first time around (those 2 and one from Spacer Mobility) and now that I’m wearing out the one I liked best, I’m interested in comparing the new models.

I especially appreciated the mix of practical items and fun extras — made me rethink what I really want this holiday season 😄.

Hi Gail, my husband wears the Chillum sneakers and really likes them. The sole is a similar thickness to Primal 3, but the toe box is not quite as wide/square. It works well for most average and wide feet, but if you hav an extra wide/square foot than the Primal 3 or Primal Zen is going to be a better option.

I’m a bit more interested in the casual look of the Chillum. Will you have a review for that shoe? I’m trying to decide for my first barefoot like shoe!

I wanted to go for a under desk treadmill this year and wanted to know if you have experience using it barefoot or it is recommended to use shows on.

Thanks a lot,
Christian

It is the Zaqq Equity. We are pretty low in that model, but another similar one is the Angles Nyx.

Hi Sam! An insole can go a long way, and they tend to pair well with Xero Shoes. That can be a safer way to try out barefoot shoes, especially with a history of heel pain. I like North Sole insoles. You can find my tips for transitioning here.

Thank you !! I’m a recent subscriber I really enjoy your thoughtful and informative articles about feet and shoes. As a long time sufferer of painful feet and lower calf muscles (PF) I’ve always tended to “protect” my feet by buying thick cushioned shoes with strong heels. Can’t wear flip-flops or anything that does not have heel support. Instinctively being aware of my feet and correct foot walking posture (heel to toe) I knew while rigid/protective shoes caused me less pain they also restricted the natural heel to to walking motion. I’m really interested in trying on Xero shoes. Given my history of very painful plantar fascitis( Ive been through PT for it and I do stretch everyday). Have you written an article about transitioning from regular shoes to a Xero shoe ? What to do and not do, how to do it etc. Thanks.

Sam
