Have you considered adding Falke hiking socks to this list? (TK1, 2, 5, …) They also have an asymmetric anatomical cut, are not as restrictive in the midfoot as other active options (especially nice for those with bulkier feet) and come in merino wool and cool options.

Have you checked out Bahe grounding socks but the standard ‘anatomical’ version, not the five-toe version?

Wondering if these would pass a barefoot sock test…

I can’t do toe socks- it doesn’t feel comfortable. I do have a suggestion for others who like me can’t do toe socks. After washing your regular socks, don’t put them in the dryer. Stretch the toe box and then lay socks flat to dry. It does depend on the material, but this has worked for me on the majority of socks I have. Along with Anya’s reviews for shoes (thank you! ), and this hack for socks – I no longer have squished toes.
