I particuarly find that Groundies, Vivobarefoot and Saguaro offer a good selection of work dress shoes so got a few pairs from them. Wrt to trainers/sneakers I stick with Vivobarefoot as they have a wider range. I have been using Stepprs insoles in most of my shoes as they are very flexible. I get they are not true barefoot insoles but they are fairly thin and give a little heel cushioning. I will switch over to true barefoot insoles at some point in the future so I know where to come for ideas!

I can’t compare directly as I’ve not tried Northsoles, for the reasons you state, but the Freet insoles are something I use a lot, I bought 4-5 sizes larger to enable me to cut to size (only a size or two up can leave you with spots where they’re too narrow). I have both thicknesses and use both depending on the circumstances.

Hi Rikke, we aren’t aware of any, but I would hunt around online or at big box stores – you should be able to find flat cushioned insole. They will likely be conventionally shape, so buy the largest size and cut to fit.

The shipping + tax is more than the insoles themselves, even if buying bulk, which makes them VERY expensive within the EU…
Also do you have specific brands of metatarsal pads that you recommend?
Walking +10.000 steps daily on concrete, and sometimes need some extra cushioning, especially in my Vivos

I am a women with wide feet and a big bunion. So far I have not found barefoot shoes that accommodate my width. I wear a size 9.5 US/40 European. I did try your Barebasics Blizzard, size 40 but they are not wide enough.Do you have any suggestions for shoes that will work for my feet?
Thank you!

I got a pair and that pad irritates mine, but I love the heel.

My feet are low volume, and I have skinny ankles. The nude colored adhesive shoe liner linked above is out of stock. Do you have another suggestion? Thanks.

One side is smooth and one side has the bumps/ridges for foot/nerve stimulation!

After reading your post/review, I got them out of the box and oh my! I love the stimulation and the slight boost (3.5mm) of cushion for some long days on my feet.

Thank you, Anya!

The Bridge Soles I have listed here would be my recommendation for that!

Hi Anya,
I and my 6 yo are transitioning to minimalist shoes (Whitin running), not quite barefoot. We run daily and I notice some minor heel pain and ankle discomfort the morning after. What would be your recommendation for an insole to aid in shock absorption for both myself and kiddo?

Yes! I’ve done that before and it can be really helpful.

I used so many resources from your website when switching to barefoot shoes about two years ago… Now, all of a sudden, I have a sharp and persistent heel pain and it is hard for me to carry on with my everyday activities, and using my old padded shoes seems impossible too. Do you think it will be beneficial to use some heel pads/insoles until the inflammation is under control?
