I had an awful experience with Xero/Gracie boots. My Gracies split on the sole (both boots) and started letting in water within a few months. They refused to refund (told me it was my fauld due to my gait – nonsense as this has never happened before, it’s the poor material) and asked me to pay a discounted price for a second pair! As if. After a lot of arguing they finally sent me a second pair as a ‘goodwill gesture’ (!), same thing happened, leaking within two months – rubbish, wet feet, so disappointed. Overpriced and a waste of money, though so tempting because it seems like you’ve finally found the holy grail – a truly waterproof barefoot boot! But I would seriously avoid them – for both the customer care and the quality of the shoe.

I have had no issues with mine – but because I rotate through several pairs of rain boots mine haven’t seen heavy use. They do feel much better quality than the Saguaro Brisk boots – the rubber is considerably thicker while still being flexible.

One person has had them for only three months and the rubber is already splitting. What is your experience since you first started wearing them Anya?

Thanks for the review!

Hi Charlotta! So glad you found your way here. Here you can find info on a slip resistant safety shoe that I recommend.

Today I got an advice to check out your Instagram and more, and wow what an amazing work you are doing!!!

Do you know about any shoes with slip resistant sole AND toe cap to protect the foot from injury if something is falling on your foot for example at work.

I have listed out my top recommendations for other non-slip options here. I have personally tested all of them except the Leguano Healthcare.

Have you done a group review of multiple shoes that would be good for kitchen and medical environments?

Yes! Tadeevo is an excellent one for extra wide square shaped feet. I have an article on extra wide shoe brands you can find here: https://anyasreviews.com/best-shoes-for-wide-feet/#the-best-shoes-for-wide-feet-list

Thank you for your reviews! Are there any barefoot shoes you’d recommend for an extra wide square shaped foot?

I have the Speed Force. I sized up to a 7.5 and still find them a touch narrow. The Zelen I have in a 7 and they are more comfortable for me. I do love the flexibility of the Speed Force, but wish I had gone up a whole size instead of a half size. The Kelso, however, is wider than both by quite a bit. The other shoes in the Running Shoes article are wider in the toe box than Xero’s running shoes.

I tried both and am about to return the third pair because I found the toe box way too narrow. (It seemed to bump my big toes inward.) I loved the look of both styles but unfortunately knew they wouldn’t be comfortable for me. Now on to your reviews for your top 10 running shoes. But just curious if you had tried these and found them to be a more narrow profile, or if it was just me.

Hmmm, if it were me I would take to sticky tongue pads and put one in the back around the achilles/heel area and the other above the arch. They might not stick super well on the lining, but it’s the only way I can think of to narrow the ankle opening.

Any tips on making the heel on the Gracies stay put without needing a warmer? It’s HOT where I am and I’d like to wear them without the extra warmth.
I thought about sizing down, but then I’m nervous they’ll be too small all around since it’s a whole size.
Hmmmmm.
